Stray Dog Visits Restaurant Every Day For A Free Meal

Every night for the past year, a stray dog has shown up outside the Subway sandwich shop. The employees there took a liking to the dog — they’ve named her “Subway Sally” and make sure she’s always fed.

One night, Subway employee, TikTok user Kxnuko, filmed his interaction with Subway Sally and shared the video on TikTok. When he woke up the next morning, the video had more than 10 million views.

The internet had fallen in love with Subway Sally, just like he and his coworkers had.

But even though Sally knows she’ll get a meal and fresh water at the sandwich shop, she has no qualms about trying out the other restaurants in the area. “If we’re too late to give her food, she’ll go across the street to Taco Bell,” Kxnuko says in his video.

Some commenters have noted that Subway Sally looks too clean to be a stray — suggesting that she has a home, but sneaks out for treats on the side. In a follow-up video, Kxnuko denies these theories, explaining that the community looks after her. Sally’s glossy coat is thanks to a woman who runs the nearby flower shop, who will occasionally give the pup baths.

But Sally’s life on the streets of Portales, New Mexico, is still a difficult one. Since Kxnuko started working at that Subway location, he says he has witnessed Sally have four litters.

In the videos, Kxnuko explained that he can’t take Sally home himself because he has cats, and he hasn’t taken her to a shelter because the closest one, which is 20 miles away, has a high kill rate.

Even though Sally went viral and gained widespread attention, Kxnuko is not going to post about her anymore. But he did assure followers he and his coworkers will continue to feed her.
